New Delhi, Feb. 2 -- Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the Union Budget for the fiscal year 2025-26, introducing important measures aimed at stimulating economic growth and providing relief to the middle class.

A key highlight was the increase in the income tax exemption limit to Rs.12 lakh, effectively eliminating income tax for people earning up to this amount. This move is expected to boost household savings and consumption, thereby stimulating domestic demand.
