Ghaziabad, July 20 -- IndiGo on Saturday launched direct flights connecting Hindon Airport in Ghaziabad to nine key Indian cities, marking a significant expansion of its presence in the National Capital Region. This is the airline's second base in NCR after Delhi.
"We are committed to enhancing the aviation infrastructure across India to enable seamless and convenient service connecting the smallest towns in the country with the growing cities and metros," he said.
The minister added that the Hindon terminal, developed under the UDAN regional connectivity scheme, offers the benefit of proximity for a wide population in the NCR region.
IndiGo CEO Pieter Elbers said the carrier will operate nearly 70 weekly flights from Hindon.
