India, Sept. 21 -- Indian Railways on Saturday announced that prices of Rail Neer packaged drinking water have been reduced, days after the government announced Goods and Services Tax (GST) reforms.

Meanwhile, the price of 500 ml water bottle has been reduced to Rs. 9.

Its previous price was Rs. 10.

Effective September 22, the Council reduced the four-rate GST structure to two slabs, eliminating the 12% and 28% rates and retaining only the 5% and 18% slabs, a move aimed at easing the burden on the middle class.
