India, March 26 -- Union Minister S.P. Singh Baghel has said Indian milk production has increased by 63.56% over the past 10 years from 146.3 million tonnes during 2014-15 to 239.2 million tonnes during 2023-24, with an annual growth rate of 5.7 % during the past 10 years.

The Minister said world milk production is growing at 2% per annum.

The Union Minister said India is ranked 1st in milk production since 1998, now contributing 25 percent of global milk production.

Union Minister of State, Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Prof. S.P. Singh Baghel, shared the information in a written reply in Lok Sabha on March 25, 2025.
