India, Oct. 4 -- A vacation in Europe turned tragic for a family from Nagpur after a couple died in a road accident in Italy, officials said.

The victims, identified as businessman Javed Akhtar and his wife Nadira Gulshan, were travelling with their three children when their vehicle met with an accident on the Aurelia Highway near Grosseto in central Italy.

Confirming the deaths, the Indian Embassy in Italy said in a post on X: "The Embassy conveys its heartfelt and sincere condolences for the tragic loss of two Indian nationals from Nagpur in an accident near Grosseto.
