India, Sept. 14 -- Young Jaismine Lamboria added a feather to India's crown by winning the first gold medal at the World Boxing Championships 2025 in Liverpool.

Jaismine hammered Olympic silver medalist Julia Szeremeta of Poland in the clash for the yellow medal.

Jaismine clinched the gold medal in the 57 kg category bout by winning it through a split decision.

The Indian boxer won the match by 4-1 margin.

Despite lagging initially, she bounced back with a strong performance later in the game.

"This feeling can't be expressed, I'm so happy to be a world champion," Jaismine told Olympics.com.
