India, Aug. 20 -- India successfully test-fired its Agni-5 intermediate-range ballistic missile on Wednesday from the Integrated Test Range at Chandipur, off the Odisha coast.
This marks a significant advancement in the nation's strategic defense capabilities.
"The launch validated all operational and technical parameters," it said.
Developed by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), the Agni-5 is a nuclear-capable ballistic missile with a range of over 5,000 kilometres.
It is the most advanced missile in the Agni series, which forms the backbone of India's land-based nuclear deterrent.
