New Delhi/IBNS, June 1 -- India has witnessed a steep spike in COVID-19 cases in the past week, with the number of active infections in the country surging over 3,000 at present.
States like Kerala, Maharashtra, and Delhi are the worst-hit ones in the latest wave.
India had 257 active cases on May 22 and 1,010 by May 26.
Kerala, the worst-hit state in India, reported 189 new COVID-19 cases on Friday and has 1,336 active infections.
It is followed by Maharashtra (467), Delhi (375), Gujarat (265), Karnataka (234), West Bengal (205), Tamil Nadu (185), and Uttar Pradesh (117).
India has also reported 26 deaths due to Coronavirus this year.
