New Delhi, Feb. 8 -- India has been ranked 38 out of 139 countries in the World Bank's 'Logistics Performance Index Report (2023): Connecting to Compete 2023'.

Union Minister of State for Commerce and Industry Som Parkash gave the information in a written reply in the Lok Sabha today.

In order to bolster logistics efficiency in the country, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the PM GatiShakti National Master Plan for multimodal connectivity on 13 October 2021 and the National Logistics Policy on 17th Sept. 2022, to improve logistics efficiency and reduce logistics costs.
