India, Jan. 2 -- The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) has issued a stern notice to X Corp for failing to comply with statutory due diligence obligations under the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the IT Rules, 2021, raising serious concerns over the misuse of its AI service, Grok.
In its notice, the government directed X to submit an action taken report (ATR) within 72 hours, detailing steps taken to address violations, the role and accountability of its chief compliance officer, and adherence to mandatory reporting requirements under the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), 2023.
