Panaji/IBNS, Nov. 21 -- The 56th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) 2025 commenced in Panaji, Goa, on Thursday with a vibrant opening ceremony featuring cultural performances and cinema-inspired tableaux representing India's diverse regions.
In a symbolic departure from tradition, Goa's Governor Pusapati Ashok Gajapathi Raju and Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant inaugurated the festival by watering a Tulsi plant, emphasizing environmental sustainability.
Adding a new dimension to the opening, a grand carnival-style parade was held, where production houses presented creative tableaux inspired by Indian cinema.
