India, Nov. 9 -- A new analysis by Comparitech of more than 2 billion passwords leaked in 2025 has found that simple and predictable passwords remain widely used globally.

The most common passwords include "123456", "12345678", "123456789", "admin", "1234", "Aa123456", "12345" and "password".

The researchers also noted a sharp rise in region-specific weak passwords such as "India@123", which emerged as one of the most frequently used in India.

Another 2% included "321", and 3.1% contained the letters "abc".

Security experts warn that such passwords are highly vulnerable to automated cracking tools.
