Calgary/IBNS, June 18 -- Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney said he needs to be "careful about further commentary" on the Hardeep Singh Nijjar case after meeting his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi on the sidelines of the G7 Summit in Kananaskis.
The relationship between India and Canada deteriorated when Carney's immediate predecessor Justin Trudeau alleged India's involvement in the killing of Khalistani separatist leader Hardeep Singh Nijjar.
A Canadian media report claimed that along with Modi, the Indian national security advisor and External Affairs Minister were also aware of the alleged plot.
Canada had expelled six Indian officials including its High Commissioner to only get reciprocated by India.
