India, Dec. 26 -- Bangladesh police have arrested six more people in connection with the lynching of Hindu man Dipu Chandra Das, whose killing on December 18 triggered widespread condemnation both within the country and internationally.

The arrests were made during a raid conducted by the Detective Branch (DB) police in Bhaluka upazila of Mymensingh district on Thursday, according to local media reports.

Acting on a tip-off, a DB police team carried out the operation and detained the suspects, a district police media release said. Investigators stated that the arrested individuals had allegedly forced Dipu Chandra Das to resign from his job prior to the fatal attack.
