India, Aug. 31 -- A senior Houthi official vowed revenge against Israel after the Yemeni group confirmed that its prime minister, Ahmed al-Rahawi, was killed in an Israeli air strike on Sanaa earlier this week.

Al-Rahawi was killed in a Thursday strike along with "several" ministers, the Houthis said in a statement Saturday, according to Al Jazeera. He served as prime minister in parts of Yemen controlled by the Iran-aligned group.

The Houthis said the officials were targeted during a workshop, but did not specify the number of casualties.
