India, Jan. 24 -- An Indian national was among four people killed in a shooting incident in the US state of Georgia, the Indian Consulate in Atlanta confirmed.

According to local media reports, Gwinnett County police are investigating the incident, which they believe was linked to a domestic dispute. Investigators told Fox5 that three children were inside the home at the time of the shooting but managed to hide and call for help.

Authorities have identified the suspect as Vijay Kumar, 51, of Atlanta. He has been charged with four counts of aggravated assault, four counts of felony murder, four counts of malice murder, one count of first-degree cruelty to children, and two counts of third-degree cruelty to children, Fox5 reported.
