Kolkata/IBNS, Sept. 19 -- Neeraj Ghaywan's Hindi film Homebound has been picked as India's official entry to Oscars 2025.

The Film Federation of India jury members picked Homebound from a list of 24 multilingual films.

The announcement was made by federation chairman and veteran producer-director, N. Chandra.

A 2025 film, Homebound features Ishaan Khatter, Vishal Jethwa, Janhvi Kapoor in the lead.

The film follows two childhood friends from rural North India-Mohammed Shoaib (Ishaan Khatter) and Chandan Kumar (Vishal Jethwa)-who dream of becoming police officers in order to escape the social marginalization they face.
