India, Sept. 2 -- Heavy rains hit Gurugram on Monday causing huge traffic jams, and severe waterlogging on the road with vehicles breaking down at several places, throwing life out of gear.

NH8 Jaipur Expressway, Badshahpur, Manesar, and Sohna were the worst-hit.

All corporate and private institutions have been advised to ask their employees to work from home, said Gurugram Magistrate, amid a rain alert for Tuesday. The schools have been advised to conduct online classes.

Several parts of Noida, Ghaziabad, Gurugram, and Delhi received heavy showers accompanied by strong winds, leading to a sharp drop in temperature.
