Ahmedabad/IBNS, June 13 -- A 10-minute late arrival at the airport proved to be a blessing in disguise for Bharuch resident Bhoomi Chauhan, who was about to board the ill-fated Air India flight that crashed soon after take-off on Thursday.

Bhoomi was stuck in Ahmedabad traffic that caused her late arrival.

She was denied entry into the aircraft by the authorities to avoid further delay in the flight's departure.

Bhoomi said she was "numb" when she learnt that the flight where she was meant to travel crashed.

A London-bound Air India flight- AI 171- carrying 242 passengers and crew members crashed into a residential quarters of a medical college within seconds after take-off in the largest city of Gujarat.
