New Delhi, March 15 -- The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) has conducted search and seizure operations at several warehouse facilities of major e-commerce platforms, including Amazon and Flipkart, across cities like Lucknow, Gurugram, and Delhi, according to a press release.

During a raid on March 7, 2025, at an Amazon warehouse in Lucknow, BIS confiscated 215 toys and 24 hand blenders that lacked the mandatory BIS certification.

Likewise, a raid at a Flipkart warehouse in Gurugram, managed by Instakart Services Pvt Ltd, resulted in BIS seizing 534 vacuum-insulated stainless steel bottles, 134 toys, and 41 speakers, none of which had the required certification.
