India, Jan. 28 -- Israel has confirmed that eight of the remaining 26 hostages, who are scheduled to be released by Hamas in the ongoing phase of the Gaza truce, are dead, media reports said.
Israel government spokesman David Mencer said the country received the list from Hamas that provided information about the status of the hostages held as captive by them since October 7, 2023.
"The list from Hamas matches Israel's intelligence, so I can share with you that... eight have been killed by Hamas," he was quoted as saying by BBC.
However, details about the hostage have not been revealed so far.
Hamas have released seven hostages so far since the truce began on January 19.
