India, Dec. 21 -- Three Indian-origin men have been arrested and jailed in the UK for their involvement in violent disorder during a kabaddi tournament in Derby in England's East Midlands region in 2023.
According to a statement issued by Derbyshire Constabulary, violence erupted between two groups during the kabaddi event in Alvaston in the summer of 2023, leaving several people injured.
Video footage from the event showed Boota Singh running after members of the opposing group. Although he was not carrying a weapon during the incident, officers later stopped his car two days after the violence and recovered two machetes from the boot, police said.
