Raipur/IBNS, July 18 -- Former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel's son Chaitanya Baghel was on Friday arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in a money laundering case linked to the alleged liquor case, media reports said.

The arrest came after an ED team raided Chaitanya's residence in Bhilai.

The probe agency feels the beneficiaries in the scam siphoned around Rs. 2,161 crore through multiple schemes.

The ED claims, as per reports, the entire money was siphoned by the syndicates.

Bhupesh Baghel served as the Chhattisgarh Chief Minister from 2018 to 2023.
