India, Dec. 31 -- Indian External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar will attend the funeral ceremony of former Bangladesh Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia on Wednesday, officials said.

In a statement, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said: "The External Affairs Minister, Dr. S. Jaishankar, will represent the Government and the people of India at the funeral of Begum Khaleda Zia, former Prime Minister of Bangladesh and Chairperson of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party."

"He will accordingly visit Dhaka on December 31, 2025," the statement added.
