Mumbai/IBNS, March 14 -- Veteran Indian actor Deb Mukherjee, who is the father of popular filmmaker Ayan Mukerji, passed away at the age of 83 on Friday.

Mukherjee passed away at around 9:30 am after he was hospitalised.

He was suffering from age-related health issues.

The funeral is scheduled to be held at 4 pm at Pawan Hans in Mumbai.

Bollywood power couple Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt- who are Ayan's close friends- are also expected to attend the funeral.

Other B-Town power couple Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh, tinseltown stars Hrithik Roshan, Sidharth Malhotra are likely to be at the funeral too.

Born in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, Mukherjee is known for films like Karate, Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar, King Uncle.
