Srinagar/IBNS, April 23 -- A day after the deadly Pahalgam terror attack that claimed the lives of 26 tourists, the security forces have engaged with terrorists in a fierce encounter in Jammu and Kashmir's Kulgam, media reports said.

The encounter broke out on Wednesday evening, hours after two terrorists who tried to infiltrate into India were shot dead.

The encounter is going on in Kulgam's Tanimarg.

The terrorists, who were apparently in camouflage, reportedly asked the victims to chant Islamic verse, pull down their pants to check circumcision in a bid to confirm their Hindu identities before gunning them down. Two among the dead were non-Muslim foreigners.
