New Delhi, May 23 -- Delhi got its new Lieutenant Governor in Vinai Kumar Saxena with his appointment on Monday, just days after his predecessor Anil Baijal resigned citing "personal reasons".

"The President of India has accepted the resignation of Shri Anil Baijal as Lt. Governor of National Capital Territory of Delhi," the President's Office said in a statement.

Saxena was the Chairman of Khadi & Village Industries Commission.

Anil Baijal, who served a tenure of more than five years, had often been at loggerheads with Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal over several issues.
