New Delhi/IBNS, Aug. 21 -- The Z-Plus security of Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has been upgraded after she was assaulted during a public meet at her residence in Civil Lines here on Wednesday, media reports said.

Apart from that, paramilitary personnel have been deployed outside the CM's residence.

A curb on Gupta's Jan Sunwai event, where she was assaulted by a middle-aged man, has also been placed.

The accused has been identified as 42-year-old Rajesh Sakriya, who originally hails from the Rajkot city of Gujarat.

He attacked the Chief Minister while meeting her in the guise of a petitioner. He slapped and pushed her and then pulled her hair before being overpowered by her security men.

The man's exact motives are not yet known ...
