India, Feb. 8 -- The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) crossed the majority mark and raced past the ruling Aam Aadmi Party with the counting of votes for the high-voltage 70-seat Delhi Assembly polls is currently underway on Saturday.

As per trends at 9.30 am, the Bharatiya Janata Party is marching ahead in 48 seats.

The Aam Aadmi Party's hope of returning to power for the third straight term received a jolt and it is currently leading in 21 seats.

A victory in the Assembly polls will see the saffron brigade returning to power in the national capital after 27 years.

As per the latest trends, Delhi Chief Minister Atishi and AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal are trailing in their respective seats.

Atishi is contesting from Kalkaji.
