India, June 22 -- Indian PM Narendra Modi on Sunday spoke with President Masoud Pezeshkian and discussed the current state of conflict between Iran and Israel, when he emphasised the importance of dialogue and diplomacy in restoring peace in the region.
"Spoke with President of Iran @drpezeshkian. We discussed in detail about the current situation," Modi wrote on X after his telephone conversation with the Iranian President.
"Expressed deep concern at the recent escalations. Reiterated our call for immediate de-escalation, dialogue and diplomacy as the way forward and for early restoration of regional peace, security and stability," he said.
