Anjar (Gujarat), July 20 -- A 25-year-old woman police officer in Gujarat's Kutch district was allegedly murdered by her live-in partner, a CRPF constable, following a heated argument on Friday night.

The accused, Dileep Dangchia, walked into the Anjar police station - where the victim was posted - the next morning and confessed to the killing.

According to investigators, the couple got into a verbal altercation at their home in Anjar, during which Arunaben allegedly made disparaging remarks about Dileep's mother.

The accused is currently posted in Manipur with the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF). He had been in a long-term relationship with the victim, and the two were planning to marry, the police said.
