Berlin/DPA, Dec. 4 -- ConvictedGermanfar-right terrorist Beate Zschape expressed remorse for her actions on Wednesday as she appeared at the trial of an alleged confidante.

"I am ashamed," the 50-year-old former member of the now-defunct National Socialist Underground (NSU) militant group told the court in the eastern city ofDresden.

During her testimony, which lasted several hours, Zschape said she had now fully accepted her 2018 conviction, but said it had taken a while.

It was only during her trial that she began to recognise her guilt, Zschape said.
