Coimbatore/IBNS, Nov. 4 -- Three men were arrested for allegedlyabducting and gang-rapinga woman college student near theCoimbatoreairport in Tamil Nadu on Sunday.

The suspects - identified as Thavasi, Karthik, and Kaliswaran - were arrested after a police shootout in the early hours of Tuesday.

According to officials, they attempted to flee when confronted by the police and were subsequently shot in the legs before being apprehended.

They were later taken to Coimbatore Medical College Hospital for treatment.
