New Delhi/IBNS, April 7 -- Chief Justice of India Sanjiv Khanna will take a call on listing pleas challenging the Waqf (Amendment) Act, which was passed by Parliament last week, media reports said.
CJI Khanna said this to senior advocate Kapil Sibal who brought up the matter before the Supreme Court bench.
Sibal responded saying he had sent an email to which the CJI said he will examine.
Multiple petitions have been filed in the Supreme Court challenging the controversial Waqf (Amendment) Act, which has irked the Opposition.
The Congress, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), AIMIM have moved the Supreme Court challenging the petition.
