New Delhi/IBNS, April 10 -- The Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has appointed advocate Narender Mann as the special public prosecutor in the case involving 26/11 Mumbai terror attack accused Tahawwur Rana who has been extradited by the United States, media reports said.

The Home Ministry issued a gazette notification regarding Mann's appointment on Wednesday.

A special flight carrying Rana that left the US on Wednesday will land in India on Thursday afternoon.

The National Investigation Agency will formally arrest Rana as soon as he sets foot on Indian soil, reports said.

The US Supreme Court earlier this month rejected Rana's plea seeking a stay in the extradition order.
