New Delhi/IBNS, Dec. 27 -- The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has moved the Supreme Court, challenging the Delhi High Court's interim relief to former BJP MLA Kuldeep Sengar in the Unnao rape case, amid widespread public outrage, media reports said.

Despite the bail order, Sengar will remain in jail, as he is serving a separate 10-year sentence for the custodial death of the rape survivor's father.

Amid growing political fallout, the Unnao survivor and her mother met Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday evening, hours after the elderly woman was reportedly manhandled by Central paramilitary personnel during a protest against the High Court's relief to Sengar.
