India, May 19 -- More than 50 years after it hit the silver screen, and continues to win the hearts of cinegoers with its sharp storytelling, Satyajit Ray's evergreen tale of friendship, Aranyer Din Ratri, will be screened at the Cannes 2025 Film Festival.

The movie, which saw the pairing of yesteryear actress Sharmila Tagore and late Bengali icon Soumitra Chatterjee, was 4K restored for the iconic film event. The film is being showcased in the Cannes Classics section on May 19.
