India, Oct. 13 -- The Canadian Police have arrested eight Indian-origin people over mail thefts, an episode that has caused widespread theft and disruption to community members.
Peel Regional Police, in collaboration with Halton Regional Police, have recovered more than 450 pieces of stolen mail, totalling a combined worth of more than $400,000 CAD.
In April 2025, Peel and Halton Police launched a joint investigation with Canada Post involving a series of mail thefts occurring throughout the Region of Peel.
As a result, hundreds of pieces of stolen mail were recovered, including credit cards, gift cards, various forms of government identification, and more than 250 cheques.
