India, April 28 -- The key suspect in the Vancouver car ramming incident has been charged with murder in the death of multiple festival-goers at a Filipino community block party on Saturday night.

"The BC Prosecution Service has now charged Kai-Ji Adam Lo, 30, with eight counts of second degree murder. Lo, a Vancouver resident, has appeared in court and remains in custody," the Vancouver Police said.

The attack left the country shocked, with the 11 victims also including a five-year-old girl.

Police said a 30-year-old Vancouver man was arrested after bystanders and witnesses intervened to detain him.

Police said some of the victims in Saturday's mass-casualty incident remain unidentified.
