Kolkata/IBNS, Sept. 20 -- A division bench of the Calcutta High Court on Friday upheld the single bench order that had issued an interim stay on the show-cause notice and suspension order to Rani Birla Girls' College principal passed by West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's sister-in-law Kajari Banerjee, who holds a post in the institution.
Srabanti Bhattacharya, the college principal, had moved the single-bench of Justice Biswajit Basu challenging the suspension order served by Kajari last month.
The state government's counsel had requested Justice Basu to recuse himself from the case infuriating the judge.
But later Justice Basu recused himself and the matter was passed on the bench of Justice Bivas Pattanayak.
