Delhi, Feb. 9 -- A day after securing a decisive victory in the Delhi Assembly elections, the BJP on Sunday sought an appointment for its newly elected MLAs to meet Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena, media reports said.
Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva wrote to Saxena, requesting a meeting with the 48 newly elected MLAs and seven Lok Sabha MPs from the capital.
The BJP's triumph marks its return to power in Delhi after 26 years, defeating AAP, which secured 22 out of 70 seats. The Congress failed to win any seats in the elections held on February 5.
Meanwhile, speculation over Delhi's next chief minister has intensified, with several senior leaders who emerged victorious being considered for the role.
