Bengaluru, Feb. 23 -- Despite a showcause notice issued to rebel leader Basanagouda Patil Yatnal, dissent within the BJP continues, with rebels firm on their demand for an election to determine the party's next Karnataka state president, media reports said.
Incumbent BY Vijayendra remains confident of retaining his position, while the opposing faction insists on leadership change, reported The Times of India.
Bangarappa stated that they have conveyed their concerns to the party's high command.
We are waiting for Union minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan's arrival. The high command has assured us that discussions will take place, followed by an election," he noted, the report said.
