BJP bites dust in Tripura ADC polls, loses to Pradyot Kishore Debbarman's newly formed TIPRA
Agartala, April 10 -- The influence of national parties in Tripura politics apparently came to an end as the ruling BJP-IPFT alliance lost miserably to Tipraha Indigenous Progressive Regional Alliance (TIPRA), floated by royal scion Pradyot Kishore Debbarman four months ago, in Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (ADC) elections today.
With Pradyot Kishore Debbarman's landslide victory, the national parties in the state have been completely decimated.
Wife of IPFT general secretary and tribal welfare minister Mevar Kumar Jamatia, Gita Rani Debbarma and IPFT assistant general secretary Mangal Debbarma have lost the elections to TIPRA candidates.
