India, Dec. 29 -- The Indian Defence Acquisition Council (DAC), chaired by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, has accorded Acceptance of Necessity (AoN) for a range of capital acquisition proposals for the three Armed Services, amounting to approximately Rs.79,000 crore.

At its meeting held on December 29, 2025, the DAC approved AoN for the procurement of several critical systems for the Indian Army, including the Loiter Munition System for Artillery Regiments, Low-Level Lightweight Radars, Long-Range Guided Rocket Ammunition for the Pinaka Multiple Launch Rocket System (MRLS), and the Integrated Drone Detection and Interdiction System (IDD&IS) Mk-II.
