Bengaluru/IBNS, June 5 -- The Karnataka government, Royal Challengers Bengaluru franchise and Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) had ignored police's suggestion to hold the mega celebration of the cricket team's victory in the Indian Premier League (IPL) on Sunday, media reports said.
The government was discouraged to hold the bash on the very next day of the final match as police were exhausted giving security on the streets of Bengaluru where the victory celebrations went on till the early hours of Wednesday, Deccan Herald reported.
Eleven people died and nearly 50 were injured when the crowd outside the Chinnaswamy Stadium swelled and went uncontrollable turning the celebratory mood into a nightmare within moments.
