Kolkata/IBNS, April 18 -- West Bengal Governor CV Ananda Bose on Friday left Kolkata for riot-hit Malda and Murshidabad district to understand the ground reality, snubbing Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's appeal to refrain from an immediate visit.

Bose on Friday morning reached the Sealdah Station to board a train enroute Malda.

Upon reaching Malda, Bose will head to the Circuit House from where he will visit the locations.

On Thursday, the Governor said the Raj Bhavan would do everything in collaboration with the Centre and State to help the victims.

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Thursday appealed to Bose to refrain from visiting Malda, Murshidabad as the situation is still volatile.
