Siliguri/IBNS, Oct. 6 -- Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Khagen Murmu and state legislator Shankar Ghosh were on Monday attacked during their visit to flood-affected areas of Nagrakata in West Bengal.

Both the leaders were injured as they were chased, pushed and attacked by the locals.

Murmu's face was seen drenched in blood as the protesters broke the car windshield throwing stones.

The BJP has accused the ruling Trinamool Congress of orchestrating the attack on the two leaders as the political tension over the flood escalated on Monday.

Both were rushed to the nearby hospital.
