Kolkata, April 16 -- India's poll body will on Friday meet 10 political parties participating in the high-octane assembly elections in West Bengal amid the spike in Covid-19 cases.

The assembly elections, which has turned out to be a fierce battle between two popular politicians Prime Minister Narendra Modi and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, are still set to go through the remaining four of eight phases between Apr 17 and 29.

Mamata, who also heads the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC), has proposed the clubbing of the last three phases of elections.
