India, May 19 -- Popular Bangladeshi actress Nusraat Faria, who was arrested from Dhaka airport while she was heading to Thailand, has been sent to jail for her alleged involvement in an attempted murder case linked to anti-government protests last year.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Nasrin Akter issued the order to send the actress, who played ousted former PM Sheikh Hasina onscreen in 'Mujib: The Making of a Nation', to prison on Monday.
The defence lawyer had applied for her bail, which the judge rejected after hearing.
The court has set May 22 as the next date for her bail hearing.
