India, Dec. 12 -- Two student representatives in Bangladesh's interim government, Asif Mahmud Sajeeb Bhuiyan and Mahfuz Alam, have resigned from their positions, according to media reports.

Both had represented the student leaders who played a pivotal role in the July-August 2024 uprising, which ultimately led to the fall of the former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina-led government.

During their tenure, Asif Mahmud Sajeeb Bhuiyan headed the Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives and the Ministry of Youth and Sports, while Mahfuz Alam served as Adviser for the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, reported Daily Asian Age.
